Right before Christmas, I met this sweet family at Tanglewood Park for a very quick photo session — just five minutes from start to finish.
They weren’t looking for a full gallery or a long, drawn-out session. What they wanted was simple and meaningful:
an updated family photo to use on their Christmas card.
This session was part of a Christmas Card Mini Session special I offered, and it’s the perfect example of why mini sessions can be such a great option for many families.
In just five minutes, we were able to capture these images — relaxed, connected, and true to who they are in this season of life.
Even though the session itself was short, it still produced 16 finished images, giving the family options to choose from while keeping things easy and stress-free.
These are a few of the top favorites from their gallery, and they beautifully tell the story they wanted to share with friends and family that holiday season.
Mini sessions aren’t meant to replace full family sessions — they serve a different purpose.
They’re perfect for families who:
Just need a few updated photos
Want something current for Christmas cards or announcements
Have limited time
Prefer a lower financial commitment
Know exactly what they’re looking for
This session is a great example of how less time doesn’t mean less meaningful. With a clear goal and a relaxed approach, even a short session can create images that matter.
Tanglewood Park provided the perfect backdrop — evergreen textures, winter light, and just enough seasonal warmth without feeling overly styled. It’s one of my favorite locations for quick sessions because it photographs beautifully year-round and allows us to move efficiently without feeling rushed.
If you’ve ever thought:
“We just need a few good photos.”
“I don’t want to commit to a long session.”
“I want something easy and low-stress.”
A mini session might be exactly what you’re looking for.
Mini sessions are offered throughout the year and are designed to fit real families, real schedules, and real life — without sacrificing quality or connection.
If you’re not sure whether a mini or a full session is the best fit, I’m always happy to help you decide.
