One of my favorite things about photography is seeing the transformation from the moment I click the shutter to the final edited image. The photo itself captures the memory, but the editing brings it to life—highlighting the emotion, the details, and the story I want to tell.
This before-and-after of my son, Maxden, is especially meaningful. We took these photos to celebrate the start of his second JV football season. The “before” is the raw, unedited photo straight out of my camera. The “after” is the finished version, where I adjusted the light, enhanced the colors, and brought out the details that make him shine.
Editing isn’t about changing who someone is—it’s about amplifying what’s already there. In Maxden’s case, I wanted the final image to reflect the strength, confidence, and growth I see in him as he steps into another season.
I love sharing these side-by-side comparisons because they show how much thought and care goes into every gallery I deliver. It’s more than just snapping a photo—it’s an art form that blends timing, skill, and creativity.
The “before” photo is the foundation, but the “after” is the polished keepsake that you’ll print, frame, and treasure for years.
If you have a son or daughter starting a new season, consider booking a quick Athlete Mini Session. These sessions are perfect for capturing them in their uniform, with their gear, and full of pride for the sport they love. And of course, every session includes professional editing that makes your photos frame-worthy.
📸 Mini sessions are quick, fun, and a perfect way to freeze the season your athlete is in—whether it’s their first year or their last.
