It’s hard to believe we’re already stepping into the last quarter of 2025. If you’re like me, you may be looking back at the year and thinking about what you’ve done, what you still want to do, and—most importantly—how you want to feel when the year comes to a close.
Here’s the truth: 2025 isn’t over yet. There’s still time to make this year end on a good note… a great note.
Why Feelings Matter More Than Checklists
When we think about goals, we often focus on the big to-do lists: the projects to complete, the boxes to check, the milestones to hit. And yes, those matter. But I’ve realized that how I feel at the end of the year matters just as much—if not more—than what I cross off my list.
Because if I finish everything but end the year exhausted, stressed, and disconnected, what’s the point?
For me, I want December 31st to feel calm, joyful, present, and strong. That’s the real “goal.”
My Own End-of-Year Intentions
Of course, there are still things I want to accomplish before the year ends. For me, it looks like:
-
Getting my house back in order after a few water leaks (old house joys!).
-
Tackling big organizing projects—our basement, garage, and even the back porch that’s been a “work in progress” for three years.
-
Planning ahead for my business by lining up three retreats for 2026 and finalizing the print products I’ll offer to clients.
-
Making a big dent in a personal photo project—albums for each of my boys from birth through now.
But these aren’t just boxes to check—they’re steps toward creating a home and business that feel peaceful, supportive, and aligned with what matters most.
Being Present in the Everyday
One of the biggest shifts I want for the rest of this year is to be fully present. That means:
-
Holding my husband’s hand without my mind running through tomorrow’s to-do list.
-
Tossing the football with my son without glancing at my phone.
-
Listening to friends laugh in my kitchen without wondering what other people are doing.
It’s about giving myself permission to be right here, right now.
Ending the Year Feeling Strong
I also want to close out 2025 feeling physically strong and healthy. For me, that looks like moving my body regularly and fueling it with foods that help me feel good. When I do that, I feel more energized, more grounded, and more able to show up in all the areas of my life.
What About You?
As we head into these final months of 2025, I’d encourage you to take a moment to ask yourself:
-
What do I want the end of this year to feel like?
-
What small steps can I take now that will move me closer to that feeling?
-
What can I let go of so I can be more present in the moments that matter?
Remember: it’s not about doing everything. It’s about finishing the year with peace in your heart, joy in your moments, and strength in your body and mind.
There’s still time to make 2025 end on a great note. Let’s do it together.
