This fall family session in Mocksville, NC was such a joy—and such a perfect reminder of why I love photographing families year after year. This crew arrived with all three boys, their two sweet dogs, and the best energy. And when I say these boys have grown…I mean it! I couldn’t believe how tall they were the moment they hopped out of the car.
All three boys play football—at three different schools—so you can imagine how busy life is for Mom and Dad. As a mom of three boys myself (and nearly identical ages), I completely relate to the nonstop schedules, practices, games, and carpooling. That’s why it makes me so happy when families like this choose to slow down for just a few minutes to get updated photos.
Because the truth is…these years fly.
Before we know it, these boys will be driving, applying to colleges, starting jobs, and heading off into their own busy lives. Taking time each year to capture your family right now—exactly as you are—is such a gift. These images freeze a moment in time that you will never get back, but will always be grateful you documented.
One of my favorite parts of this session was that they brought along their dogs. Pets are part of the family, and including them always brings such fun, natural moments (and usually a lot of laughs). The dogs did amazing, and the boys were so sweet helping keep them close and calm.
The fall colors showed up beautifully for us in Mocksville, and the entire session was relaxed, easy, and full of genuine smiles. This family is always such a joy, and I’m already excited for the next time I get to photograph them.
If you’re juggling sports schedules, school events, and all the chaos of raising kids—trust me, I get it. But your future self will be so thankful you made time for photos. These moments are worth remembering.
