There’s something extra special about photographing babies at four months old. They’re starting to show their personalities, give those gummy grins, and make eye contact that melts your heart. Add in the sweetness of twins—and you have double the joy (and sometimes double the unpredictability)!

These two handsome boys belong to my best friend, which made this session even more meaningful. They came out to my property in Mocksville, NC for their 4-month photos, and like most things with babies, the timing was key. At this age, sessions work best when little ones are fed, dry, and (hopefully!) happy. With twins, that can feel like a running joke—but we managed to get it close to perfect.

The weather had its own plans that evening. Just before the session, the sky opened up and it poured rain for a good 30 minutes. We waited it out, and sure enough, the storm cleared and gave us sunshine. The humidity came right along with it, but these boys handled it like champs.

With baby sessions, you don’t have long before they’re “over it,” so we worked quickly to capture their smiles, sweet details, and even a few shots of them together on their special blankets. In the end, we got a beautiful mix of images that highlight just how precious this stage of life really is.

These little guys won’t stay this small forever, and that’s why sessions like this matter so much—freezing these fleeting moments of chubby cheeks, curious eyes, and sibling snuggles to look back on for years to come.
