I get asked often, “How long will it take to get my photos back?”
And honestly — I can’t sit on photos. It’s just not who I am.
As soon as I walk in the door after your session, my family knows exactly what’s coming next. I don’t cook dinner, I don’t sit down — I head straight to my office, grab my camera, pull out the SD card, and load your images onto my external hard drive. It’s my little post-session ritual, and it’s how I make sure your photos are safe and ready for editing.
Once your images are backed up, I create a brand-new Adobe Lightroom catalog just for your session. If I have the time, I’ll start culling right away — going through every image, picking out the best of the best, and running my basic edits. From there, I fine-tune each photo — cropping, color correcting, and adjusting the light and tones until everything looks just right.
When that’s done, I export your gallery, upload it, and send you the link.
Most of my clients receive their galleries within 24 hours, sometimes even the same day.
Now, I do have a two-week delivery window written into my contract — because life happens — but if you’ve worked with me before, you know I rarely take that long. I love getting your images to you quickly while the excitement from your session is still fresh.
Once you receive your gallery, what happens next depends on the type of session you booked.
If you had a full session, you can download all of your digital images right from your gallery.
If you booked a mini session, you’ll have the chance to select your favorite images first, and then download your selections once you’ve made your picks.
No matter which session you choose, I can’t stress this enough — save your images for safe keeping!
That means downloading them to your computer, not just your phone. Make a backup on an external hard drive, or even better, upload them to a cloud service like Google Drive or Dropbox. Technology can fail — phones get lost, computers crash, and links expire — and I want your memories to last for years.
Once you’ve had time to view your photos, I’ll usually follow up to make sure you’re happy with your images. Occasionally, I’ll ask for a quick Google review too — because your words make a huge difference. Reviews help new clients find me and trust that they’ll be taken care of just like you were.
💬 If you’ve recently had a session and loved your photos, I would be so grateful if you left a quick review:
So, what happens after your session?
A whole lot of love, attention, and care — from the moment I get home until the moment your gallery hits your inbox.
Because your photos deserve it.
