The Flower Story Florist Branding Session Winston NC

There’s this idea we all carry around—especially as business owners—that things need to feel finished before we show them.

The studio needs to be done.
The space needs to be styled.
Everything needs to feel “ready.”

But the truth is… most of us are building something while we’re in it.

And that’s exactly why I loved photographing Bridgett Clancy, owner of The Flower Story in Winston-Salem, NC.

Building Something Beautiful Right Where You Are

Bridgett is in a season of building.

Right now, her home is where the magic is happening—where she’s designing, creating, and bringing her floral visions to life behind the scenes.

And instead of waiting for a “perfect” studio or a fully built-out workspace…
we captured her right where she is.

Because this season matters too.

There’s something really special about documenting the in-between—the growth, the process, the beginning stages that people don’t always see.

When Real Life Shows Up (and Steals the Show)

And then… there was the cat.

Completely unbothered by our plans.
Fully convinced he was the main character.

He hopped up, inspected the flowers, and made himself part of the session like he’d been booked all along.

And honestly? It made the session better.

Because that’s real life.

Your kids might run through the frame.
Your dog might bark.
Your space might not look like Pinterest.

But that doesn’t make it wrong.

It makes it yours.

The Power of Capturing “Right Now”

Bridgett showed up exactly as she is in this season—creating, experimenting, building something meaningful.

And that’s what makes these images powerful.

Not perfection.
Not a curated studio.
Not a “someday” version of her business.

Just right now.

If you’re a business owner waiting for everything to feel ready before you invest in photos…

This is your reminder:
You don’t need a perfect space.
You don’t need everything figured out.

You just need to start.

Thinking About Your Own Branding Session?

If you’ve been putting it off because things feel messy, unfinished, or not quite where you want them to be…

You’re exactly where you need to be.

And I’d love to help you capture it.
