There’s something especially meaningful about maternity sessions — they tell the story of a family right before everything changes.

This maternity session at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC was a perfect example of that. Even though it was a chilly winter day, the sun showed up in the best way, filling the gardens with warm light and giving us one of those crisp, beautiful afternoons that makes you forget about the temperature.

I first met this sweet family during my summer sunflower mini sessions, and getting to photograph them again — this time as they prepared to welcome a new baby — felt incredibly full circle.
