There are sessions that feel routine and then there are sessions that feel wonderfully full-circle. This family? Absolutely full-circle.
I’ve known them for so many years now — long before the boys were taller than their mom, long before college dorm rooms and textbooks and late-night study sessions. I first met them when the boys were in preschool, and for as long as I’ve held a camera, I’ve had the joy of watching this family grow up right in front of it.
In the last two years alone, I photographed both of their senior sessions — and now here we are… both boys off to college, yet still carving out time to come home, unwind, laugh together, and be photographed as a family. That in itself is something incredibly special.
This fall we met in Mocksville, NC, surrounded by crisp air, golden leaves, and that nostalgic countryside glow. Their sweet dog trotted alongside them as they walked, and every photo felt relaxed and genuine — the kind of moments that happen easily when a family has years of connection and inside jokes built between them.
Watching the boys interact with their parents, seeing how much they still enjoy being together, and capturing the familiar love and closeness of this family… it was one of those sessions that reminds me exactly why I do what I do.
Family photos aren’t just for little kids. They’re for every stage — especially the season when kids are grown, independent, and out creating their own lives. Because time doesn’t slow down, but photography lets us hold onto it just a little tighter.
December always brings reflection — and it also brings planning. If updating your family photos has been on your heart, I’d love to help you make it happen in 2026.
Whether your family is in the busy toddler stage, the chaotic school-year phase, or the bittersweet season of college breaks and quick visits home… every year is worth remembering.
Let’s freeze this chapter — whatever chapter you’re in — beautifully.
