There is just something about pumpkin patch mini sessions that makes my heart extra happy every year. The moment October arrives, the air gets a little crisper, the leaves start to change, and it officially feels like fall. And nothing kicks off the season better than photographing sweet families (and tiny babies!) surrounded by bright orange pumpkins.
Every October, I host Pumpkin Patch Minis at Hawk's Pumpkin Patch in Winston-Salem, NC, and it has become one of my favorite traditions — and one that many of my returning families look forward to as well. It’s the perfect way to pause and document a new season of life… whether kids are taking their first steps, learning to smile on command, or growing faster than anyone can believe.
This year, these adorable twin boys completely stole the show. They arrived ready for their first fall photos in their cute little overalls and instantly melted everyone’s heart. Mom came prepared, and Grandma came along too — and between the three of us, we pulled out every trick in the book to earn those smiles. And wow, did they deliver! From wide-eyed curiosity to belly laughs to sweet snuggles, these two were absolute rock stars.
Pumpkin patch minis are quick, simple, and so much fun. Kids get to sit, play, kick their feet, and take in all the bright colors around them — which keeps sessions relaxed and natural. And for parents, the final photos always become some of the most cherished images of the season.
Fall is busy, life moves fast, and kids don’t stay little for long… but photos like these help freeze the magic for just a moment longer.
Pumpkin Patch Minis book fast every year — usually in late August or early September.
