There are some families I get to photograph year after year, and this one is always such a joy. Watching them grow, change, and settle into their rhythm as a family is one of my favorite parts of this job. Every year their session turns out beautifully — and this one might be my favorite yet.
We met at what I lovingly call the secret garden.
It’s tucked behind a simple fence, easy to miss, and honestly… I don’t think many people even know it exists. But for photographers? It’s a dream.
A quiet little hydrangea garden, full of textured blooms and winding paths that look magical in every season.
🍂 Why This Garden Is Perfect for Fall Sessions
In the fall, the hydrangea blooms fade into the most gorgeous rusty, dried tones — the kind of color palette photographers hope for all season. It creates a warm, textured, natural backdrop that makes photos feel instantly cozy while still bright and timeless.
This family dressed perfectly for it. Their blues coordinated beautifully with the muted copper tones in the garden. Every corner we turned was picture-perfect — from the steps to the hedges to that little opening where the sun peeks through just right.

This garden is absolutely stunning all year long:
✨ In the summer the hydrangeas are huge, lush, and in full bloom.
🍂 In the fall they transform into warm, rusty tones that are perfect for autumn color lovers.
