One of my favorite things about photography is capturing families in the places that mean the most to them — and this session is the perfect example of that. This beautiful family owns High Rock Lake Campground, and fall is their busiest time of year. That meant slipping away for photos just wasn’t possible… but when Mom’s son was in town from out of state, she was determined to make pictures happen.
So instead of meeting somewhere else, we brought the session to them — right at their family campground by the lake.
And honestly? I loved every second of it.
High Rock Lake Campground is both peaceful and full of life, especially in the fall. The changing leaves, the golden light, and the quiet lake made the perfect backdrop for their session.
But the personal touches are what made this gallery truly special — especially the addition of their family’s classic truck. I always love when clients add meaningful pieces of their story into their photos, and the truck brought such an authentic, nostalgic vibe to the entire shoot.
The boys explored, laughed, climbed into the truck bed, and enjoyed the evening in a way that felt relaxed and natural — the best kind of family session. We even included Grandma and the whole crew for a few portraits to round out the story of their time together.
Fall at High Rock Lake is truly magical, and capturing this family in a place that holds so much meaning for them was an honor.
