One of the most common questions I get as a photographer is:
“Do you edit your photos?”
And the answer is always a big, resounding YES—because that’s where the magic happens.
Take a look at this sweet moment from a recent session in the sunflower fields. On the left, you see the original image straight out of camera. It’s a beautiful capture—joyful, candid, full of personality. But it’s missing some of the sparkle you felt in the moment.
On the right? That’s the edited version. The sky is a soft summer blue. The greens pop. The sunflowers feel warm and golden. The skin tones are bright and true-to-life, and that little pop of sunshine wraps the whole scene in joy.
Editing isn't about making people look fake or overly polished. It's about honoring the real beauty that was already there—and enhancing it to match how it felt to be in that moment.
Here’s what went into this edit:
✨ Sky recovery for softness and balance
🌻 Color correction for natural skin tones and warm sunflower hues
🌿 Light adjustments to brighten the shadows and bring out detail
🎨 Tone matching for a cohesive, sunny feel
Great photography starts with good light and connection—but editing helps bring it all to life.
So the next time you wonder what goes into creating a gallery you love… know that it’s not just the snap of the shutter. It’s also the hours spent crafting the image to match the story behind it.
Want images that feel like your life—but even brighter?
