Extended Family Session at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons NC

Some sessions stay with you long after the camera is put away — and this one was exactly that.

This extended family session at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, North Carolina was not only a beautiful celebration of multiple generations, but it also marked the very last photography session I photographed in 2026. Ending the year with a family like this felt incredibly meaningful and fitting.

Why Extended Family Sessions Matter

Extended family sessions are about more than just getting everyone in one photo.

They’re about:

  • Preserving connections across generations

  • Documenting seasons of life that change quickly

  • Capturing grandparents, parents, and kids together in one place

  • Creating images that become part of a family’s legacy

During this session, we photographed full group portraits, smaller family groupings, couples, siblings, and individual moments — all woven together into a gallery that tells a complete family story.

A Perfect Location: Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC

Tanglewood Park is one of my favorite locations for family photography in the Triad area.

With its winding brick paths, mature trees, seasonal color, and quiet garden spaces, it offers a timeless backdrop that works beautifully for both large extended family photos and more intimate portraits.

For this session, the late‑year landscape added warmth and texture — fallen leaves, soft winter light, and pops of greenery and red berries made every image feel cozy and grounded.

Photographing Multiple Generations with Ease

One of the most common concerns families have when booking an extended family session is logistics.

My approach is simple and efficient:

  • I move quickly to keep kids engaged

  • I give clear direction so no one feels awkward

  • I prioritize must‑have groupings first

  • I allow space for natural interaction in between

This keeps the session relaxed, organized, and enjoyable — even with a large group.

Ending 2026 with Gratitude

There was something especially meaningful about this being my final session of the year.

2026 was full, layered, and personal — both in life and in business — and ending it by photographing generations together felt like a reminder of why I do this work in the first place.

These images aren’t just photos from a park in Clemmons. They’re memories. They’re proof of connection. They’re moments that will matter more with time.

Is an Extended Family Session Right for You?

Extended family sessions are perfect if you:

  • Want grandparents included in your photos

  • Are gathering family from out of town

  • Want updated images of everyone together

  • Value legacy photos over quick snapshots

If you’re thinking about planning an extended family photography session in Clemmons, Mocksville, Winston‑Salem, or the surrounding North Carolina areas, I’d love to help you plan something meaningful and stress‑free.
