This past week has been full of amazing opportunities and experiences. On Tuesday, we wrapped up our Let’s Go Small Business Retreat with four incredible business owners. It was such a gift to spend time connecting, sharing, and supporting each other in business and life.
By Wednesday, it felt like fall truly arrived. I kicked off school photos in a beautiful fall field, capturing those classic yearly portraits for families who’ve trusted me for years. Then, on Saturday, I photographed my very first 2026 senior session—such an exciting milestone that reminded me just how quickly these seasons and years go by.
The weekend was, of course, full of football games, which always bring energy, community, and a sense of family tradition.
If there’s one thing I’m carrying with me into the new week, it’s this: slow down and focus on what grounds you.
These last few weeks I’ve been moving at full speed—revving up for fall sessions, seniors, families, and school photos. In the process, I let go of some of the intentional practices I’ve been doing to keep myself aligned—things that bring me joy, keep me focused, and push me toward my goals personally, physically, and in business.
And that’s life, right? We all get off track sometimes. The real difference is not whether we lose that alignment, but how quickly we recognize it and jump back on.
If you’ve found yourself in a season where you’ve drifted from your routines or your grounding practices, give yourself grace. Notice it, reset, and take one small step back toward alignment. The gap between where you are and where you want to be can close much faster when you stay aware and willing to begin again.
This week I’m reminding myself—and maybe you need this reminder too—that slowing down doesn’t mean falling behind. Sometimes it’s exactly what we need to stay on track with what matters most.
As I head into the heart of fall sessions, I’d love to help you pause and capture this season for your family, your senior, or your business. Life moves fast, but photos have a way of grounding us in the moment while preserving memories for years to come.
